Two 19-year-olds from Mississauga have been charged with stunt driving on Highway 69 -- right in front of the Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police detachment.
The incident took place at 2:50 p.m. Jan. 26, police said in a news release Tuesday.
OPP “responded to a traffic complaint of two vehicles racing southbound on Highway 69 in front of the Sudbury OPP detachment,” the release said.
“The two vehicles were travelling at a speed of 174 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone, when located and stopped by police.”
The southern Ontario suspects were charged with stunt driving and have a court date of April 4 in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury.
In addition, their driver’s licences were suspended for 30 days and both vehicles were impounded for 14 days.

In a separate incident, Greater Sudbury police stopped a vehicle travelling 136 km/k in an 80 km/h zone.
“They were driving while unlicensed, uninsured and with open alcohol in the vehicle,” Sudbury police said on social media.
“A roadside screening device registered ‘alert,’ resulting in licence suspension and stunt suspension and six court summonses.”
