Members of the James Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are requesting help identifying a person involved in a case from earlier this month.
At about 8:15 p.m. on Jan. 10, OPP officers responded to a report of a person standing at or on the other side of the safety railing on the bridge overlooking the Kapuskasing River on Government Road in Kapuskasing.
“The person is described as an Indigenous female, in her 20s to 30s, approximately 5′8” tall, with a heavier build. She was wearing dark clothing and carrying a bag at the time," OPP said in a news release.
“Police believe identifying this individual is important for ensuring her safety and well-being.”
Police are seeking any witnesses to the event or anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area between 7:30 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. to come forward.
