The Ontario Provincial Police is conducting a sudden death investigation, after an Ohio man was discovered dead in the water.
In a media release issued on Monday afternoon, the OPP said officers were called to Lake Memesagamesing in Hardy Township on Sunday afternoon.
Police officials said the investigation revealed that a neighbour had located a pontoon boat floating along the shoreline and was returning it to shore, when he located the male in the water with vital signs absent.
Gene Hearrell, 69, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Hearrell is from Ohio.
The OPP said a post-mortem examination is expected to be completed to determine the exact cause of death.
