Ontario main party leaders debate in Parry Sound Ontario election campaign trail day 3, main party leaders debate Northern issues at municipalities conference. Callam Rodya reports.

On day three on the Ontario election campaign trail and all three of the main party leaders gathered in Parry Sound Friday afternoon to debate on Northern Ontario issues.

It's part of the annual Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities Conference.

The leaders square off, mostly with the goal of proving how their respective parties can reach beyond the Queen's Park bubble and Southern Ontario.

All three parties have been hard at work laying out their plan for the north.

Ring of Fire development, health and long term care, and indigenous relations are all top of mind.

After the debate, the campaign buses will head their separate ways.

Ontario Liberal Party Leader Kathleen Wynne, who hasn’t been seen in the north east since February, is returning to Toronto.

Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford is spending some more time in Parry Sound before heading to Barrie for one of his famous rallies.

Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath is heading to Sudbury next for a campaign event.
