A fatal crash involving a commercial vehicle in northern Ontario on Sunday night has left one person dead.
The collision happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Highway 11/17 at Sistonens Corners, more than 41 kilometres northwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Just one vehicle was involved in the crash and the deceased was alone in the vehicle, OPP Const. Chris Chevrier told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email Monday afternoon.
The road between Highways 590 and 102 was closed overnight and reopened shortly after 4:30 a.m. Monday.

“Investigations resulting in the loss of life and serious injuries can be complex to investigate,” OPP said.
“As the vast majority of collisions are preventable, thorough and accurate investigations help ensure that motorists who cause these collisions are held accountable for their driving behaviours. The victims and their families deserve no less.”
No word on what caused the crash.

The Thunder Bay area remains under a snowfall warning Monday morning.
“Lake effect flurries begin Monday and continue through Tuesday or Wednesday with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected,” the Ontario Ministry of Transportation said on social media Sunday night.
