One charged in connection with the murder of a Sudbury man

One person has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder in connection with the death of a Sudbury man earlier this month.

Ontario Provincial Police have charged one person with accessory to murder after the fact in the death of a Sudbury man.

A 49-year-old man from Sudbury has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder and indignity to a dead body in connection with the death of Hynes.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Jan. 30 in Sudbury.

“The East Algoma OPP crime unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal investigation branch and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service,” police said in a news release Tuesday.

“The investigation is ongoing. There is no threat to public safety. Further information will be released as it becomes available.”
