A 63-year-old woman from Jogues, Ont., south of Hearst, is facing multiple charges after she reported her vehicle was stuck in a ditch earlier this week.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call for assistance from a driver reporting that they “had gotten their vehicle stuck in a ditch” on Maheau Road at about 4:45 p.m. on Feb. 3, police said in a news release.

“Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver. During the interaction, officers determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol,” OPP said.
“The individual was placed under arrest and transported to the Hearst OPP detachment for further testing.”
As a result of the investigation, the local woman was charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance along with two impaired driving charges, including having a blood alcohol concentration of more than 80.
In addition to the charges, the accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle involved was impounded by police for seven days at the owner’s expense. She is scheduled to appear in court in Hearst on March 5 to answer the charges.
