A man who refused to leave a building on Main Street in North Bay on Sunday has been charged with drug trafficking and other offences.

Police responded at 10:30 a.m. to a call about a man who refused to leave the property.

“Upon arrival, police located the accused in a stairwell with drug trafficking equipment beside him,” police said in a news release Monday.

“At this point, the accused was placed under arrest.”

A search uncovered five grams of suspected fentanyl with a street value of $1,500, a knife and drug trafficking equipment.

The 36-year-old suspect has been charged with two offences related to drug trafficking, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with an undertaking.
