A 32-year-old resident of Kirkland Lake has been charged after a snow machine collided with a vehicle on Queen Street on Jan. 12.

Ontario Provincial Police were called at 9:18 p.m. and determined the snow machine driver had been drinking.

“Further investigation revealed that the accused had lied about a motor vehicle being involved in the collision,” police said in a news release Tuesday.

“The accused was arrested and transported to the OPP detachment to conduct further testing.”

Charges include impaired driving, public mischief, being a novice driver with alcohol in the bloodstream and driving while their licence is suspended.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on March 30.
