CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca video journalist Sergio Arangio in Timmins is up for another award after last year's win.
The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) of Canada announced the finalists for the 2024 awards on Monday.
"RTDNA Canada is pleased to recognize excellence in digital and broadcast journalism with the Regional Awards of Excellence," the organization said in a news release.
"RTDNA Canada Awards honour the best journalists, programs, platforms, stations, and news gathering organizations in audio, digital and video."

Arangio is being recognized in the small/medium market enterprise journalism of the multi-platform category for the central region of Canada for his four-part feature series Taking Back Timmins: Tackling Crime, Addictions and Homelessness.
He is one of three finalists in the category.
The series looks at the causes and ways to fix the growing crime problems in Timmins through the eyes of the northern city's first responders.

Episodes include following a street outreach team, the Mushkegowuk Fire Keepers, bylaw officers attending homeless encampments, paramedics responding to the crushing opioid crisis and police officers- on the front lines as safety reaches a critical point.

Winners will be announced later this year.
Arangio won the regional award for best feature in a small/medium market for his three-part feature series on the daily life of Ornge Air Ambulance workers.
In 2023, he was also a finalist in the best VJ category for his story on Beaverhouse First Nation being officially recognized by the Canadian government.
The winner of that award went to CTV News Toronto for its own take on an Ornge Air Ambulance story.
