Ontario Provincial Police charged a 27-year-old man with assault and uttering threats following a family dispute at a residence on Beckett Boulevard in Elliot Lake.

On March 20 at about 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a complaint at the residence. Police were informed by the complainant, a parent, that a younger family member had been throwing household items, swinging a broomstick at the complainant and a grandparent, and threatening to punch both victims in the face.

The accused allegedly left the residence before police arrived but was later arrested at 2:15 p.m. on Spine Road.
