Another teen charged with stunt driving on a northern Ont. highway

Increase in stunt driving offences OPP say it's been a busy 2023 for stunt driving charges in northeastern Ontario. Amanda Hicks reports.

A 19-year-old driver was travelling 145km/h in an 80km/h zone on Highway 63 near North Bay,Ont., last week, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say.

“On June 27, 2024, North Bay OPP stopped a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed on Highway 63,” said provincial police in a social media post.

“(The) 19-year-old driver has been charged for stunt driving.”

In addition to the stunt driving charge, the accused also received a 30-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle involved was impounded for 14 days.

None of the allegations has been proven in court.
