A 63-year-old woman is in critical condition after being hit by an SUV in Beaconsfield, in Montreal’s West Island, Thursday afternoon.
Police received several 911 calls at 4:30 p.m. about a woman unconscious and in cardiac arrest at the intersection of Windermere Road and Berkshire Avenue.
Paramedics gave the woman first aid on-scene before she was rushed to the hospital.
Witnesses told Montreal police the woman was walking her dog along Windermere when it ran toward the street, dragging her with it.
The woman was then struck by a vehicle.
Police said the dog was not injured.
An investigation is ongoing.
