Quebec’s Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Ministry (MAPAQ) is advising those suffering from certain food allergies who purchased potato or macaroni salad from an Outremont market to avoid consuming the products.
MAPAQ said that salads from Marché Frères Young on Van Horne Avenue should not be eaten by those who suffer from wheat, soy, milk, mustard, sesame or sulfite allergies, as well as those with celiac disease.
“In fact, in addition to the allergens already declared, these products contain these allergenic substances without it being mentioned on the label,” MAPAQ said.
The warning says that all products where the label does not include mention of the presence of allergens are included in the warning.
The products included in the warning were only sold at the market and were in a clear plastic container.
The products can be returned to the market or discarded.
“It should be noted that no cases of allergic reactions associated with the consumption of these foods have been reported to MAPAQ to date,” the warning adds.
