Five people have been arrested following a police operation targeting alleged organized crime, drugs and illegal firearms trafficking in Kanesatake, a Mohawk settlement on the shore of the Lac des Deux-Montagnes.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), two vehicles and two homes were searched on Tuesday morning.

The suspects arrested include three men in their 40s, as well as two women, aged 31 and 40.

They are expected to appear at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse in the afternoon.

The operation, by the Integrated team against firearms trafficking (EILTA), stems from an investigation that started in the summer of 2024.
