Police identify 79-year-old woman found dead in Longueuil, open murder investigation

Longueuil police say they believe a woman who was found dead in an apartment last weekend was killed.

Police officers were called to an apartment on Cuvillier Street Ouest in Longueuil late Sunday morning. When they arrived, they found a woman’s body.

The case was initially described by police as a suspicious death, but in an update on Tuesday, the police service said the woman was a victim of a murder.

Police identified the victim as 79-year-old Denise Brouillette.

“We are continuing to deal with this case as the conclusions of the expert reports currently underway will provide further details of the circumstances,” of the woman’s death, police said on social media.

No arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing.
