Free rides are over for the REM light rail line between Montreal and the South Shore.
Due to the “unacceptable service provided by the REM operator” fares were suspended starting Feb. 24.
Starting Monday, riders will need a valid transit fare to board the REM and shuttle buses.
REM weekend service has been suspended in recent weeks and trains will begin running at 5:30 a.m. on Monday.
Shuttle buses run when the REM does not.
Those REM users who have monthly passes are entitled to a credit that can be applied in April.
