Laval police say a 58-year-old man is dead following a workplace accident.
Police received a call around 6 a.m. about an accident after a man was crushed by his truck at the AIM Recycling plant in the industrial Saint-François neighbourhood.
Officers found him dead on-site.
There is no criminal link, said police. The case was transferred to Quebec’s workers health and safety board (CNESST), which confirmed details around the man’s death.
A CNESST spokesperson said two officers are at the scene to shed light on the circumstances around the incident and determine if an investigation is necessary.
They will meet with witnesses and do “necessary verifications” over the next few days,
Officers are still at scene to assist the CNESST.
