Two managers in charge of the Cité-des-Prairies youth rehabilitation centre (CDP) when educators were involved in cases of alleged sexual misconduct with minor detainees are no longer employed.

The CIUSSS Centre-Sud-de-l'Île-de-Montréal confirmed that the two, who were suspended when the allegations came to light, are no longer on staff.

An interim management structure is in place to ensure continuity of operations and the smooth running of activities at CDP.

“Out of respect for these people, all information relating to this process remains confidential,” the CIUSSS told CTV in a statement. “Our objectives remain the same: to provide a safe, quality living environment for young people and a healthy, supportive work environment for all our employees.”

In October, La Presse reported that there were cases of alleged sexual misconduct between nine female employees at the CDP and at least five minor residents, including one educator who had a baby with a detainee.

Though the CIUSSS never confirmed the details, it said two managers at the detention centre were “temporarily removed” while members of their teams were under investigation.

It also said four employees who worked for the two managers were dismissed, including two for alleged sexual abuse.
