A 24-year-old man, who was considered a suspect in the death of a 47-year-old man in Saint-Lambert on Wednesday, has been released, according to Longueuil police (SPAL).
Police previously said the victim had been walking on Saint-Georges Street near Upper Edison Street on Wednesday around 2:40 p.m. when he got into a dispute with a man in a car.
The 24-year-old driver was initially questioned for alleged involuntary homicide, but no charges will be laid against him, the SPAL said.
Longueuil police added that the younger man may have used legitimate defence during the fight.
Police noted that the autopsy results could help determine the cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
