Beaconsfield woman pulled onto the street by dog and struck by SUV has died

The West Island woman who was struck by an SUV in Beaconsfield after being pulled into the street by her dog has died.

Montreal police confirmed that the 63-year-old died on Sunday night after being in critical condition following the accident.

She may have also suffered a cardiac arrest when she fell into the street on Thursday afternoon after her dog pulled her onto the road at Windermere Road and Berkshire Avenue.

First responders performed CPR on the woman.

She was transferred to the hospital, where she remained in critical condition.

The dog was uninjured.

An investigation into the cause and circumstances leading to the tragedy is ongoing.
