Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a Videotron store in the Ville-Marie borough.
The SPVM says it received a 911 call just after 6 p.m. reporting a robbery at a store on Sainte-Catherine Street near Mansfield Street.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found two employees who had been tied up during the robbery.
The victims, two men aged 31 and 22, did not sustain any injuries.
“According to information from the victims, around 5:45 p.m., at least two suspects entered the business and threatened the employees with a firearm,” said an SPVM spokesperson.
Police confirmed that no customers were in the store at the time.
Several items were stolen before the suspects fled the scene on foot.
A perimeter was set up, and investigators are reviewing security camera footage.
The investigation is ongoing.
