A woman, as well as the two passengers in her car, were arrested Thursday after an early morning police chase on Montreal’s highways.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) says officers from its Candiac highway station attempted to intercept a vehicle making “dangerous manoeuvres” at 3 a.m. on the Jacques-Cartier Bridge.
“The driver, a woman in her 20s, refused to stop when the siren and flashing lights were activated, and a police chase ensued,” the SQ explains.
A few minutes later, the vehicle came to a halt, and police arrested the three people inside.
All of them could face charges, including fleeing, dangerous driving, obstructing a peace officer and breach of conditions.
They were released pending further proceedings.
“No injuries were reported during the incident,” the SQ adds.
An investigation is underway to understand the circumstances leading up to the chase.
