An incident at a St. Thomas high school has led to charges for a 31-year-old Torontonian.

St. Thomas police say that on Wednesday, officers were called to the high school after three unknown people wearing masks had entered the school with a student. Once inside, police say that the group confined a student to a washroom.

The masked people threatened the student in relation to ongoing issues between teens at the school, then leaving the area in a vehicle parked nearby.

Police say that the people were known to one another.

A 31-year-old now faces charges of forcible confinement, and uttering threats to cause death or harm.

The suspect turned themselves in to police, and was released pending a future court date.
