For the first time in a long time midwestern Ontario is home to both the OFSAA boys and girls hockey high school champions.
St. Michael’s Secondary School’s Warriors secured top spot in the AA girls division late last week in Sudbury. They entered the tournament ranked sixth, but went a perfect 6-0 in the round robin and playoffs.
It’s the program’s third gold medal in girl’s hockey.
The Sacred Heart Crusaders from Walkerton took home gold in the AA boys hockey division in Sudbury as well.
