Sarnia police have arrested a 25-year-old London man that forged prescriptions to acquire controlled substances.

According to police, between Jan. 21, and 29, pharmacies in Sarnia, Corunna and Glencoe received prescriptions for oxycodone and hydrocodone that were fraudulent.

Oxycodone and hydrocodone are both controlled substances, listed as Schedule 1 in the Controlled Drugs and Substances act.

On Thursday, police arrested a man that attempted to claim a forged prescription.

The 25-year-old Londoner is facing six counts of fraud, and six counts of uttering a forged document.

He is being held by police for his bail hearing.

The Sarnia Police Service would like to speak with pharmacies that suspect they have also received fraudulent prescriptions for these substances. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Shawn Munro, of the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigations Division at (519) 344-8861 x 6179.
