Extreme cold warning ends despite frigid temperature, travel advisories in effect with more snow on the way

Bitterly cold temperatures continue but an extreme cold warning has ended. Julie Atchison has the latest forecast.

Bitterly cold temperatures continue; however the extreme cold warning has come to an end.

A travel advisory remains in effect for northern Huron County as well as southern Bruce County.

“We have a clipper on the move and some snowfall expected across the region tonight through the overnight into your Thursday,” said CTV News London Meteorologist Julie Atchison.

“Wind chills out there still quite frigid this evening,” Atchison continued. “Heading through the overnight, the temperature will actually come up just a bit.”

Atchison says the temperature will come up to minus 12 overnight, but warns, “We will be dealing with some rough road conditions and blowing snow as we head into the afternoon on Thursday.”

Here’s a look at the latest forecast

Wednesday: A mix of sun and cloud with 40 per cent chance of flurries. Wind southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. High minus 13. Wind chill near minus 26.

Wednesday night: Mainly cloudy with 60 per cent chance of flurries. Wind southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. Low minus 13. Wind chill near minus 23.

Thursday: Cloudy with 70 per cent chance of flurries. Wind southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40. High minus 7. Wind chill minus 20 in the morning and minus 14 in the afternoon.

Friday: A mix of sun and cloud. High minus 7.

Saturday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 4.
