A grueling 68 game regular season is in the books, and the London Knights will face a familiar foe in the opening round of the OHL playoffs.

London dropped its final game of the regular season 6-4 to the Erie Otters after leaving 11 of their regulars at home to rest for the postseason.

Next up is the Attack, who clinched the eighth and final spot Sunday, when Sarnia lost to Sault Ste. Marie.

The Knights went a perfect 6-0 this year against the Attack but will have to beat one of the best goaltenders in the league, Carter George, who was the starter for Team Canada at the World Juniors.

It was a dominant season for the green and gold who went 55-11-2-0 for 112 points, a dozen more than the next closest team, the Kitchener Rangers.

Finishing as the Hamilton Spectator Trophy winners comes with multiple benefits. Not only will London have home ice throughout the playoffs, but they will also avoid playing both Kitchener and Windsor, who have the second and third best records in the league.

They posted the second most wins in franchise history and will be the favourites to win the league for the second straight year as they begin the playoffs Friday night at Canada Life Place.

London will host the first two games of the series Friday (7 p.m.) and Sunday (2 p.m.) before heading to the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre on Tuesday ( 7 p.m.) and Thursday (7 p.m.) for games three and four.
