Knights' defenceman charged by London police

The driver of a vehicle involved in a single-vehicle crash in south London has been identified as a member of the London Knights OHL hockey team.

Cameron Allen, 20, of London is facing multiple charges.

- Impaired operation of a vehicle

- Impaired operation exceed blood alcohol concentration

- Fail to remain

- Fail to report accident, and novice driver- blood alcohol concentration above zero.

According to police, officers responded to the area of Colonel Talbot Road near Clayton Walk around 3:20 a.m. after a citizen called 911.

Police said an unoccupied vehicle had been left running and appeared to have been involved in a crash.

Police were told there appeared to be blood on the driver’s side door and leading away from the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was found and arrested not far from the scene at a nearby address.

Police also said one of the passengers was taken to hospital by EMS with minor injuries.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in London court on March 6.

Allen, a defenceman and Washington Capitals prospect, was acquired by the Knights in December. He has since played 18 games and picked up four goals and 13 assists.

Statement from the London Knights

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, Cam Allen was charged by the London Police Service with offences related to impaired driving. The team takes this matter very seriously and are in the process of gathering all relevant information.

We have been in contact with the OHL and will handle this in accordance with both league and team conduct policies. Disciplinary action will be determined by the OHL.

In our discussions, we understand that Cam takes this matter very seriously and has assured us that he will fully cooperate with the Court process. Cam understands the responsibility that comes with being a member of this organization and a representative of our community.
