The St. Thomas Police Service has arrested an 18-year-old in an assault investigation that took place over the weekend.
On Sunday, police were called with reports of an assault and unwanted communication. Officers said the victim was previously assaulted by their ex-partner.
As the investigation continued, police learned the victim ended the relationship and was receiving threatening messages.
The 18-year-old suspect now faces charges for assault, assault causing bodily harm, criminal harassment, and uttering threats to cause death.
The London Police Service assisted the STPS, searching the suspect’s home. The search resulted in a machete, bear spray, and a black pellet handgun.
