Emergency responders conducted a water rescue near downtown London Saturday afternoon.
London Fire says a 911 call was received just before 2 p.m. regarding a person in the river in the area between Richmond Street and Ridout Street.
A full water rescue team was dispatched when crews learned that the person was near the shore in medical distress.
At that point, a “full tech rescue high angle response was initiated,” according to Fire officials.
First responders transported the individual to hospital.
Ridout Street was closed south of Horton Street while the rescue was underway.
