Huron Perth Public Health has issued a boil water advisory for St. Pauls drinking water system.

According to The Township of Perth South, the health unit has issued the measure in a precautionary move, following loss of pressure and lack of disinfection during routine maintenance conducted by the Ontario Clean Water Agency on Monday.

Complications of maintenance required a system shutdown.

The advisory is simply precautionary, and was not issued following a sample testing for any kind of contaminant.

Residents are advised to boil their water before using - the advisory will be in effect for two to three days.
