A 19-year-old woman is facing charges following a ‘suspicious fire’ in Goderich in February.

On Feb. 19, the Huron County OPP began investigating the incident. Emergency services responded to the blaze around 9:30 p.m., which happened in a recycling bin outside of a building on Hamilton Street.

Through an investigation, the OPP learned someone started the fire, causing damage to the outside of the building and wiring. The estimated cost of damages hasn’t been determined yet.

No injuries were reported. Several apartments are inside the affected building.

A 19-year-old Goderich woman is now facing charges for arson – disregard for human life, mischief over $5,000, and mischief endangering life.
