Arrests and charges after Sarnia kidnapping

Police in Sarnia have arrested to people in relation to a kidnapping last month.

On Jan. 10, police said they were called to a home around 1 p.m. after a young woman walked up to the front door in the area of Confederation and Stuart streets.

According to police, the 22 year old was not dressed for the weather and had frantically approached the home saying she had been kidnapped.

After investigating, police said two men and a woman had entered the victim’s home with one of them carrying an axe. The victim was then assaulted and taken to a waiting vehicle where she was held against her will and continued to be assaulted.

The suspects eventually decided to let her go and pushed the victim from the vehicle.

Police previously arrested a person involved at home on Brock Street.

On Wednesday, two additional people, a 37 year old and a 43 year old, both from Sarnia, have also now been charged with kidnapping, break and enter, mischief, forcible confinement and possession of a controlled substance.

During the arrests on Wednesday, police seized fentanyl with a street value of $6,528 and more than $500 in Canadian currency.
