Guelph Police are investigating an incident where a woman was punched and sprayed with bear spray.
A passerby called police Tuesday, saying she and her dogs had a reaction to a noxious substance near Exhibition Park around 11 p.m. and believed the smell was coming from a nearby basement apartment. When she went to check on the people living there, she found a woman who was throwing up.
After further investigation, police determined the woman had been visiting a friend when another woman, whom they both knew, showed up.
There was a physical fight where the woman, who was visiting, was repeatedly punched in the head and then sprayed in the face with what police believe was bear spray.
Police have not said it any charged will be laid.
