People who regularly use the West Montrose Covered Bridge, affectionately known as the ‘Kissing Bridge’, will need to plan a new route for a few days.
The bridge will be closed to all traffic, including vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and horse and buggies, from March 20 until March 26 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily.
It will, however, be open overnight and on the weekend.
To help prepare for the upcoming work, crews with the Region of Waterloo will be clearing vegetation in the area. The region said every tree that is cut down will be replaced with two new trees.
A detour will be set up along Line 86 during the closures.
