An elementary school in Waterloo, Ont. will be closed for the rest of the week as contractors complete structural testing.
The Waterloo Region District School Board announced Elizabeth Ziegler Public School would be closing its doors on Monday. In an update on Wednesday, the school board said the building will stay closed on Thursday and Friday while contractors continue to work.
The closure was triggered by concerns with the façade of school.
A fence has been set up around the building, barring access to students and the public. Damage could be seen near the roofline of the building.

Asynchronous learning resources are being offered to students. They are also encouraged to work on previous assignments or review older course material.
Families whose children have essential items at the school can contact elz@wrdsb.ca.
Another update is expected by Friday.
