Two taken to hospital following Kitchener crash

A driver from Kitchener is facing several charges, including impaired driving, after a two-vehicle collision.

Waterloo Regional Police Service officers were called to the crash on King Street East near Riverbank Drive around 6:20 p.m. on Monday.

Investigators said the driver of a grey Ford pickup truck swerved into an oncoming lane of traffic and sideswiped a black Chevrolet SUV before going into the ditch.

Paramedics took people from the SUV and the driver of the truck to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 58-year-old Kitchener man, was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration, dangerous operation, failing to properly wear a seatbelt and speeding.
