A man from Markham has been charged for a series of jewelry store thefts in southern Ontario.
The Niagara Regional Police Service and Stratford Police Service began investigating the thefts on Nov. 27, 2024 after a suspect walked into a three stores, asked to look at jewelry and then took off with the items once he had them in hand.
On Thursday, investigators teamed up with other police services in Waterloo, Hamilton and York Region to complete a search warrant at a Markham home.
A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000.
