Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after a person reportedly fired gunshots at deer in a Woolwich complex Friday.

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after a person reportedly fired gunshots at deer in a Woolwich complex Friday.

Police said in a release that at around 10:30 p.m. they were called about an unidentified person trying to shoot deer that were in the side yard of a residential complex in the area of Front Street and Isabella Street.

“Witnesses observed deer within the complex and heard the nearby gunshots,” the media release read in part. “The deer fled the area.”

The suspect was also believed to have fired the gun on a walking trail near the area.

No one was hurt and there were no reports of property damage.
