A man has been arrested after a Guelph daycare and city employees were threatened in social media posts.
Guelph Police Service said they learned about the posts including threats against the unnamed daycare close to the man’s home. They said the posts included a photo of an improvised weapon.
Police said officers were in the area of the daycare on Thursday when it opened. They saw the man walking toward the building and stopped him. After some resistance, he was arrested.
Police said they searched his home and found the weapon he had posted.
A 33-year-old Guelph man was charged with two counts of uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of breaching a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing on Friday.
