Brantford man charged with attempted murder after stabbing

A 37-year-old man was charged with attempted murder Friday following a stabbing in Brantford.

Brantford Police said a female went to the hospital around 12:30 a.m. with life-threatening stab wounds.

Officers then went to a residence on English Lane and took the man into custody.

He’s been charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of disobeying court orders and two counts of failure to comply with a judicial release.

Police said the stabbing was deemed intimate partner violence.
