Ancaster man hits snowbank, charged with impaired driving

A man from Ancaster is facing impaired driving charges after police said he swerved off the road and hit a snowbank on Highway 24 South.

The Brant County Ontario Provincial Police received a 911 call from a witness on Saturday at 8:58 p.m.

They told officers a driver had collided with a snowbank near Colborne Street West.

When police arrived at the crash site, they said the driver appeared to be impaired.

A 39-year-old Ancaster man has been charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, dangerous operation, operating a vehicle without insurance and failure to apply for permit on becoming owner.
