WestJet suspends 2 American routes out of Alberta, including Edmonton to Orlando flight

Published:

An Edmonton to Orlando flight and a Calgary to New York flight have been suspended for summer 2025.

Two WestJet direct seasonal flights from Alberta will not be flying this summer, including the summer 2025 flight planned between Edmonton and Orlando International Airport which has been suspended.

The airline has also cancelled planned seasonal service from Calgary to New York LaGuardia Airport.

All impacted guests will be notified, according to WestJet.

“WestJet has observed a shift in bookings from the U.S. toward other sun destinations such as Mexico and the Caribbean, and to transatlantic destinations. It is common across the aviation industry to adjust schedules to service guest demand,” Josh Yeats of WestJet said in an email to CTV News Edmonton.

“As a proudly Canadian airline, WestJet is committed to ensuring air travel remains accessible, affordable and safe for all Canadians, as we continue to fly where our guests want to go.”
