Police in Rocky Mountain House are calling the death of a man on a nearby First Nation a homicide.
RCMP in the west-central Alberta town said in a media release the man was found dead early Tuesday at a home on O’Chiese First Nation. Officers had received a 9-1-1 call just after midnight of a shooting and travelled to scene.
The man’s body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, police said.
Alberta RCMP’s major crimes unit is now investigating the death.
O’Chiese First Nation is about 230 kilometres southwest of Edmonton.
