Driver killed after semi crashes into power pole near Lloydminster

A man is dead after the semi he was driving crashed near Lloydminster on Wednesday.

RCMP said the 71-year-old man was killed after his semi left the roadway and crashed through a power pole on a rural road about 10 kilometres northwest of the border city.

It is unclear at this time whether his death was a result of the crash or a prior medical condition or episode, RCMP told CTV News Edmonton.

No other details about the crash have been released.
