A Calgary film festival devoted to stories that change the dialogue on aging is looking for a few good short films by seasoned filmmakers.

The Third Act Film Festival takes place this coming June in Calgary, and festival executive director Lyn Cadence is looking for short films made by Canadian senior filmmakers.

To be eligible for the Canadian Seniors Film Showcase, you must be a Canadian filmmaker over 60 and be a member of a filmmaking organization in your community. Any genre is welcome for films that are maximum of 15 minutes long and were completed within the last three years.

The films will be judged by a jury of industry professionals and seven will be selected to be screened at the Third Act Film Festival on June 6 at the Confluence in Calgary and online across Canada.

The Award of Distinction will be selected by a jury of industry experts, with $1500 going to the winner.

There will also be an audience favourite award, with the winner receiving a laurel and bragging rights.

The deadline for submissions is April 28.
