Road repairs will force the closure of a street near Festival Square in Lethbridge starting Monday morning.
Sixth Street South between Third Avenue and the lane near Festival Square will be closed for warranty repair work replacing damaged concrete panels in the roadway.
The damaged panels will have to be removed, reformed and then poured.
Since it takes about a week to cure the concrete to where the road can be reopened, it’s anticipated to be completed by Monday, April 14.

As a result, traffic will be impacted on Sixth Street South between Third and fourth Avenue, especially when an event is taking place at Festival Square.
Northbound traffic on Sixth Street will be detoured down the lane.
Sidewalks will remain open and parking will be the same.
Barricades will remain up for a week after work has been completed to allow concrete to cure to the required strength before the road can reopen.
