Scientists at Calgary’s Mount Royal University (MRU) are offering the public a special look at some of the celestial bodies that make up our solar system.
Beginning at 7 p.m., Dr. Stephen Jeans, an astronomy professor at MRU, will be hosting a special event alongside experts from The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada in Calgary.
The public will be able to look through several powerful telescopes to see Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, which are all in relative alignment and visible in the night sky.
Participants will also be able to see other features like the Seven Sisters, Orion and more.

The event, which takes place outside Soccer Field 2 near Visitor Parking Lot A, is free to the public and refreshments will be served.
Temperatures are expected to drop to about freezing, so warm clothing is encouraged.
