Man dead after incident at workplace in northeast Calgary

Mechanic killed in northeast Calgary A mechanic, working on some trucks outside a Calgary business, was killed on Sunday night. Jacqueline Wilson has details.

Occupational Health and Safety and the Calgary Police Service are investigating how a man died on Sunday night.

First responders were called to a business at 19 Aero Drive N.E. around 6:40 p.m.

A man in his 40s was declared dead on scene.

Police told CTV News the death involved an incident with tires during truck maintenance.

The Calgary Fire Department, which also responded to the scene, said the victim did not need to be extricated.

Firefighters assisted EMS at the scene.

Police tape was still up on Monday morning, wrapped around semi-trucks with the company logo Onway Transport Inc. on them.

CTV News has reached out to Onway Transport to confirm if the death was one of their employees.
